At 15 years of age, Service left school and moved out of his home so his parents didn't have to take care of him. He worked at a bank to make a living for himself.
After five years of education in England, the Allans went aboard the Martha and returned to America. Edgar Allan Poe attended a variety of schools. When Poe was 16 years old, John Allan's uncle died, leaving John a comfortable fortune. The Allans purchased a mansion called the “Moldavia”.

He left his job and devoted his time to writing. One thing Service had that Poe didn't was copyrights. Close to the next year, movies were starting to be created about his writings. For the next three years, Service travels to Budapest, Vienna, and Paris. When he was 39 years old, he married Germaine Bourgoin, whom is younger than him by 13 years. They spent a week in London.

When Poe was 25 years old, John died, but Poe inherited nothing from John's will. When Poe was 27, he moved to Richmond. Edgar marries his cousin, Virginia, to prevent her from being sent away. She was only 13 at the time. A couple years later, Poe, Virginia, and her aunt move to New York, then Philadelphia. More of Poe's books are published over the course of a few years. Poe registered to study law when he was 34 years old. Poe started giving lectures on poetry. They all move back to New York.
At the age of 43, Germaine gives birth to twin daughters. A year later, one of the girls caught scarlet fever and died. After another year, Robert and Germaine celebrated the end of the war by wintering in Monte Carlo. When he was 48, they travel to Tahiti.
Edgar Allan Poe's most famous poem, “The Raven” is published when he was 36 years old and is believed to be written about Virginia's up coming death. By now, Virginia and Edgar are having a wonderful marriage. They move to Fordham, New York a year later. After another year, Virginia died from tuberculosis. Edgar died poor at the age of 40. His work still thrives to today.
At the age of 55, the Services move to the Riviera. Ten years later, Service's mother dies at the age of 84. When Service was 68, Robert's first granddaughter is born.
