This is the story I was talking about. Apparently she (El) wrote it during choir and this is only the first draft. Tell me what you think.
Chapter 1
The sun shone brightly over a bustling city. The day is clear and the air is crisp. And though the sun shone it was still cold. But here in this city of Lothil it was always cold, rain or shine. Lothil. What is the Lothil, you ask? Lothil is this kingdom and compared to many of its neighbors it is fairly peaceful. Lothil is vast and filled with many different types of people. It is ruled by a kind king, thankfully, and governed fairly. With all that said, Lothil still has its share of dangers. Like thieves, for instance, which is where our story begins. This story starts with one thief in particular. His name is Jessie Pierce. To some he is just Jessie, others know him as ‘Mysterious Jessie’, but most common is…..
“Stop thief!!” Jessie ran pushing people aside, which resulted in shouts and glares directed to him. He pushed forward franticly through the thick crowd of people. His fear of getting caught again gave him extra speed and endurance. He could still hear the merchant behind him and clutched the package tighter as he weaved through the masses. He reached the other side of the market place and skidded to a stop in front of one of the many alleys. This one was one of the darkest. It took Jessie all of thirty seconds to decide. He ran into the alley and into the darkness. He slowed once he was ten or so feet knowing that everyone, but the thieves, was afraid of the alleys. He knew the merchant had stopped and the entrance and, in fact, he could still hear him hurling curses and insults into the darkness. Jessie chuckled as he imagined the man standing there, red faced, yelling into the alley but to fearful to take more than one foot step down it. Jessie stopped and leaned against the wall with a sigh of relief. He closed his eyes momentarily still clutching the package. To close. Way to close. A shadow moved to his left and a hand grabbed his arm. Jessie jumped in surprise. He looked at the man next to his and rolled his eyes. His glance turned into an annoyed glare.
